Relay for Life

Corning's annual Relay for Life was Friday night! Nana was coming up for the race, but some things came up at work which weren't going to allow her to come and be there in time so she and Pop wanted the boys to come spend the night with them so we met Pop Friday afternoon for them to go on to Marion!! They (Jackson) was so excited!!! He told me he wanted to stay 10 nights...I told him that he couldn't stay 10 nights that was too long, so he told me he guessed he just stay 9!!! He is such a mess!!! I came back home, picked up Andy, and went and joined my team(Team Bobcats) for the festivities!! I got a migraine early in the night so wasn't able to stay out there near as long as I would've liked to, but that's a whole different story:-/ The relay was a little smaller this year, but there still was quiet a bit of money raised for American Cancer Society! I haven't heard exact totals yet but our team raised the most raising over $6500! The Relay for Life has always been something that I have enjoyed and liked being involved in, but since it's come to Corning in the last few years it has become something very near and dear to my heart!!! There are many people whose lives have been touched and effected by cancer and this relay is just a small something I can be a part of to try to help and support those people!! I have lost 2 grandparents to cancer, know numerous friends and family friends whom have suffered from cancer, and have my very own mother-in-law and my mother whom have been faced with the horrible "c" word, cancer!!! Over the past few years, my family has dealt with this/these horrible nightmares...in Dec. 2010 and July 2012, I experiences feelings that are indescribable!! What I do know is that I prayed like none other and still pray daily that God will continue to bless these two women and that he will continue to help them fight the fight!! I pray daily for every other individual whom has been faced with cancer and for all the families as well!!! I pray that events like our relay for life, no matter how big or how small, will help aid in cancer research and will help to cure many, many more people in the future!!! To Grams, Nana, Nay, and every other individual reading this post whom has experienced cancer or has loved ones who have, I pray for you daily, I admire your strength and courage, and no matter what, I will always love you through it!!!
