Another weekend comes to an end!

This weekend we just enjoyed some quality time together!! Saturday morning we got up and it was raining so Daddy was off! The 3 of us went to Jonesboro to meet Nana and do a little shopping!! Jackson wasn't acting like he felt very good so the shopping trip didn't last long:( We did manage to eat at Red Lobster, ride a few mall rides, and pick up a few new things for Jackson before we decided to just head back home so he could rest!! After a almost 4 hour nap and a full nights sleep plus some Tylenol, he was good as new Sunday!! We enjoyed church, lunch at Nanaw's, a wonderful Sunday afternoon nap, and then a trip to Poplar Bluff!! We love weekends with family!!!!!

Ice cream anyone? Jackson was driving the ice cream truck in the mall!

Happy Grandparent's Day!!!

Happy Grandparent's Day to each one of our very special grandparents!! Since I didn't have a picture of each grandparent on my phone to upload, I just chose to steal this cute picture from Molly of the cutest little boy ever!!! We are so blessed to have a wonderful, loving family and so thankful for each and every one of our grandparents!!! This is such a bittersweet day for me because it sure makes me miss my sweet grandparents who have passed away and who smile down on us daily from heaven!! Mamaw, Pappaw, and Nanny I love you so much and miss you every single day!! I'm so sad that Jackson won't know you like I did, but smile knowing you see him and watch him every day!!!! Bumps, Papa Moore, Nanaw, Papa Jett, and Granny...we love you all so much!! Grams, Pa, Pop, and Nana...Jackson loves you so much!!! Jackson is so blessed to have you as grandparents!!! You are the best!!!! When we count our blessings, we count our grandparents twice!!!

Such a big boy!!

Counting Our Blessings!!

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of our countries 9-11 attack! It is so hard to believe that it has been 10 years!!! I had my first moment of feeling old Friday at school!!! Friday, I taught a lesson to my 4th grade students about 9-11 and about heroes! I quickly learned that my students weren't even born when 9-11 happened....seriously?? That wasn't that long ago!!!! I quickly began to understand that when older adults say that was just a few years ago, or that was only 10 or 15 years ago, I know that it really doesn't seem like that long!!!! Funny though that as I am sharing this with a friend last night, Andy sends a text that says, " I am a little skeptical about this whole 9-11 10 year anniversary" it alarms me and I immediately respond, "why?" he responds, "they are saying that has been ten years! There is no way! I was a senior in high school and it's not possible that has been ten years ago!!" :)
In honor of 9-11, I pray for all of those who lost loved ones that day. I pray for all of the men and women who were involved in helping with that tragedy! I pray for all of the everyday heroes who risk their life for me everyday! I pray for our country and our leaders! I pray for all of my family and friends and count my many blessings today!!!!

Yesterday also marked an anniversary that is so hard to stomach! Yesterday was the 2 year anniversary of the death of my friend, 1st Lt Tyler Parten! Tyler lost his life during an ambush attack in Afghanistan! All gave some, some gave all!!! Tyler will forever be remembered in our hearts! We love you, Tyler!
